THE Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies presents his compliments to the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and is directed by the Secretary of State to transmit, for the information of Sir E. Grey, with reference to the letter from the Foreign Department of the 8th instant, a copy of a telegram to the Acting Governor of Hong Kong, on the subject of the importation of arms and ammunition into China.

Downing Street, June 12, 1907. HIS Majesty's Government have received a note from Chinese Minister asking for co-operation in preventing secret import of arms and ammunition for the use of rebels. I should be glad if you would instruct police to exercise especial vigilance to prevent evasions of Proclamation, which forbids export from Hong Kong.
